Kildare
is bounded by the Wicklow mountain range to the east, the foothills of which
extend westwards to meet the unique plain known as the Curragh, an area renowned
for horse racing, training and breeding. Its lush countryside is ideal for
breeding horses and it is the location of some of the world's top stud
farms. The county has also long been the home of military encampments.
Tourist
attractions include; The Curragh, Japanese Gardens in Tully and the Peatland
World Visitor Centre in Lullymore.
